Traditional Chinese Medicine, sometimes shortened to TCM, is a practice of medicine that has been used for more than 2,500 years. However, to our western minds it is an unfamiliar way for us to look at pathology and disease states.

Sounds enticing. I know. Who wouldn't want an abundance of vitality?
In Chinese Medicine there exists the body's vital energy, known as Qi or Chi. This Qi flows through the many channels in our body connecting to our organs and creating a network through our body. Smooth flow of this Qi will allow our organs to carry out their purposes, support other organ purposes, and keep our bodies in harmony. This harmony can become disrupted by diet, stress, illnesses, and many other common things we experience in our day to day lives.
Oh! Did I mention there’s also all that stuff about Yin and Yang, the five elements, and other important substances like blood (xue), essence (jing), and bodily fluids (jin ye)? But now we’re just getting ahead of ourselves on a webpage. Let us discuss this in more depth later in a future blog post.
