The Sacred Moon Cycle and Your Cycle

๐ŸŒ™๐ŸŒ”The Sacred Moon Cycle ๐ŸŒ“๐ŸŒ™

โ€œThe menstrual cycle is the most basic, earthy cycle we have. Our blood is our connection to the archetypal feminine. The macrocosmic cycles of nature, the waxing and waning, the ebb and flow of the tides and the changes of the seasons, are reflected on a smaller scale in the menstrual cycle of the individual female body. The monthly ripening of an egg and subsequent pregnancy or release of menstrual blood mirror the process of creation as it occurs not only in nature, unconsciously, but in human endeavor. In many cultures, the menstrual cycle has been viewed as sacred.โ€ -Dr. Christiane Northrup, MD

Did you know many women ovulate and bleed in alignment with the full and new moon? I heard about this long ago and fell in love with the thought of this devine connection. However, before, it always seemed like a connection that even if it ever was, was lost in the disconnect of our present society. But now, I rely on the moon cycle for my cycle.

Traditionally across many cultures the bleeding phase of a womenโ€™s cycle was seen as a time for the woman to look inward. A time to ground and to connect with earth. It is said most of the women would bleed during the full moon and ovulate during the new moon. A few women would bleed on the new moon and ovulate on the full. It is believed by some that those who bleed with the new moon were the healers of the tribe.

With everything going on I spaced out about my own cycle and while laying in bed tonight my uterus felt active so I checked the moon schedule-
This served as a good reminder to me tonight to remember the eb and flow of this life. The waxing and waning of the moon serving to be symbolic in so many ways as we sit in a space of uncertainly. There to remind us thereโ€™s more to come, a certain trajectory to follow amidst all the unknown.

If youโ€™re curious I encourage you to see where your cycle aligns with the moon. I also encourage you to slow down during your cycle. Reflect, connect, support one another.
And for the empathetic ones reading remember youโ€™re not feeling your anxiety alone, the worlds energy has a strong grasp at the moment but this too will pass ๐Ÿ’•
